Feels strong compares to other garden shovels. Got this because I broke another one at the handle joint when digging deep weeds. What I was looking for.
I like this trowel, it works great, has a comfortable handle, and a nice color scheme. The part that throws me off is the pricing scheme on them. As of the time of this review, they're $9.99 for one, or if you buy the 2 pack it's $29.99. making it 50% more per item if you buy the 2 pack instead of simply buying 2 single trowels, which makes no sense!!!That aside, the quality seems to be really good. They're nice and sturdy, and do a great job of digging. As for value, if you're buying them individually I'd say they're well worth the money, but obviously I don't recommend buying the 2 pack!!As always if I encounter any issues or think of anything else to add I'll update this review!
This is a solid feeling hand trowel with a steel blade 3-1/2 inches wide and 6 inches in length. It is welded securely to a steel shank which has then been inserted into an ergonomically designed plastic hand grip. The over-all length of the trowel is 13 inches. The steel of the trowel appears to have been coated with a semi-gloss power coat. The trowel feels balanced in my hand and allows a firm grasp that is useful for transplanting seedlings and creating a grouping of plants in a larger pot.The handle has an oval stick-on “garden guru” label which is held to the handle with adhesive. It easily comes unstuck with even light use and might as well be removed with a fingernail before use. The trowel loses none of its usefulness with the loss of the sticker.Pros:- Strong trowel for transplanting and cultivating.- Feels secure and balanced in my hand
Wow! This trowel is built to last! When Garden Guru says heavy duty, they mean it. My new-to-gardening husband needed his own trowel, instead of always stealing mine, so I took a chance on this one. I’m happy I did. My other trowel is 20 years old and is still working, but it’s also 20 years behind this new one in design and function. There’s an ergonomically designed thumb rest that lets my thumb and hand relax. The tough but slightly giving handle is a really nice upgrade. So is the neon green color. I can see where I left it, instead of having it blend into the flower beds. At first I thought this trowel would be too heavy for my elder self, but the weight actually helps with digging through my clay soil. I’ve been missing out by not getting this tool sooner! Who knew? Needless to say, this upgraded tool is now mine, but when my hubby discovers it I may have to get him his own. Lol! If I sound overly delighted about a trowel, it’s because it really is a great addition to my gardening life. Kudos to whoever designed this! 6 out of 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overall a great trowel. It feels well made and sturdy, and hasn't bent after use. The grip feels cushioned and easy to grip, even with wet hands, and the blade has been sharpened a bit to make it easy to dig with through compacted or root filled soil. For just under $10 at time of review, it's not a bad price either.
